María Belén is a postdoctoral researcher in the FunRNA team, founded by INRAE, working under the supervision of Dr. Jérémie Bazin. Her research focuses on post-transcriptional regulation in plant responses to root-knot nematodes. In collaboration with Dr. Bruno Favery at IPSiM, she employs high-throughput sequencing, proteomics, and biochemical approaches to investigate how alternative splicing modulates plant–nematode interactions. She holds a PhD in Biochemical Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, where she studied epi-genetic mechanism involved in Vitamin E biosynthesis in Tomato. Also, she studied novel signal and post-translational modifications involved in thermomorphogenesis during her first postdoctoral research in Argetina. María Belén values international collaboration and scientific innovation, approaching her work with adaptability and curiosity. Outside the lab, she enjoys swimming, watercolor painting, and spending time with friends and family. A devoted dog lover, she dreams of having a research space where dogs are welcome nearby.
