Laura is a PhD student in the funRNA team under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Blein. Her research focuses on the role of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in regulating lateral root development and their evolutionary conservation across Brassicaceae species. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Laura moved to France to pursue a Master’s degree in Plant Science at Université Clermont Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand, and later joined the team for a six-month internship exploring lncRNA-mediated regulation of biosynthetic gene clusters. Outside the lab, Laura enjoys watching films and series, she’s a true Netflix enthusiast. She especially appreciates the international and supportive atmosphere of the team.
