Martin is Director of Research in the FUNRNA team and has been responsible of the Regulatory RNAs team at IPS2 as well as the Director of the Unit. He worked with Thomas Blein and Jeremie Bazin in multiple project aiming to understand how long non-coding RNAs or lncRNAs can modulate the action of key regulators such as splicing factors, transcription factor and/or epigenetic actors in the context of root growth and development and their interactions with the environment. He also had long term collaborations with Moussa Benhamed’s team (IPS2) on the epigenetic regulations mediated by lncRNA, with Federico Ariel (Argentina) on the action of lncRNA in TF regulation and with Hervé Vaucheret (IJPB, Versailles) on gene silencing and small non-coding RNAs. He wants to develop now RNA-based strategies to modulate gene expression using the knowledge obtained in the last years on both long and small non-coding RNAs, notably through the use of RNA-based nanoparticules. Outside of the lab, Martin enjoys music, playing piano and with his grand children.
