Wil is a post doc fellow in the funRNA. He is supported by the National Science Foundation Plant Genome Post Docotoral Fellowship Program working under the direction of Dr. Jeremie Bazin, Dr. Thomas Blein, and Dr. Martin Crespi, co-advised in the ChromoDynamics team with Dr. Moussa Benhamed. Wil’s research focuses on understanding RNA modification dynamics, studying both modification deposition as well as removal. Using a combination of sequencing, biochemistry, and genetic analysis, Wil is interesting in understanding how modification patterning is achieived through the regulatory proteins which add and remove them.
Wil was a visiting PhD scholar in the funRNA team with the support of the Chateaubriand Fellowship, later returning as a Fulbright France-USA scholar. Wil is passionate about supporting and encouraging international exchange and collaboration in the sciences. He enjoys both the indisciplinary work as well as the international and welcoming environment in the FunRNA group.
Outside of the lab Wil enjoys cooking, swimming, sewing, and French wine.
