Strengthening international collaboration: new postdocs join FunRNA

Two new arrivals in the FunRNA team. We are excited to welcome Nicolas Gaggion and Valdeir Moreira, two postdoctoral researchers whose expertise will broaden our investigations—both methodologically and in terms of lncRNA characterization.
Nico a postdoctoral researcher from Argentina, joins our team through the Make Our Planet Great Again (MOGPA) fellowship. He completed his PhD at sinc(i), the Research Institute for Signals, Systems, and Computational Intelligence in Santa Fe, Argentina. After six years of collaboration, he will continue developing new methods and adaptations for multi-species phenotyping in the ChronoRoot platform.
Valdeir, a postdoctoral researcher from Brazil, joins us as part of our CAPES/COFECUB project in collaboration with the lab of Adriana Silva Hemerly (UFRJ). During his PhD in Brazil, he investigated how a transcription factor represses an anti-nematode protein in the soybean cultivar BRS 133, a key variety for Brazilian agriculture. During his stay with us, he will focus on characterizing lncRNAs interacting with transcription factors.
We are eager to see the contributions Nico and Valdeir will bring to the FunRNA team and look forward to the impact of their work on the future of lncRNA research in plant biology.
